D2D costing RM ?

So in its infinite wisdom, RM has decided to give us 7 items of D2D items this week. I dont understand why RM would want to issue us with so many, as it makes the job unachievable in the contracted working hours. The only way duties have been completed on Monday and today is by way of overtime (90 minutes per day so far), or by people cutting off and causing a delivery failure - purely because of D2D !
if that carries on over the rest of the week, how much money are RM actually making off these items ? Dont they also get fined for deliveries which dont get completed ? I think its very likely they could be losing money from accepting so many contracts.

That's one part of it, one other part is that they just get delivered anywhere,for example, estate agent leaflets to sheltered housing complexes,predominantly social housing estates. It seems to me they just try and get as many contracts in without their being targeted properly.

a lot of people prep them in on a Saturday before they go home or after their delivery for the next day,all in duty time or their own time!

No the way to do it is come in early for free and/or stay late and put them in for free, oh s**t no that's wrong but its what some of the numpties at our place do !

Delivery shouldn't really take any longer than 2 or 3 so how long is it taking you to prep 7 D2D?

quite simply, Monday and Tuesday are both days with double columns for D2D on my frame, its a heck of a lot of households to get prepped, this has the knock of effect of bags which usually can be carried now having to be put on a trolley which also takes longer.

As for how much money are RM actually making off these items they're taking 5p each leaflet so that's 35p for each Delivery Point or well over £100 for each round with 450 or so houses so, less costs of the bundling centres, it's still good money.

D2D's are delivered by magic, didn't you know

One lad in our office was putting them in yesterday afternoon when he had finished, claiming it on a rather generous SA allowance!

Prepping 7 D2D (without nesting them) took me ~75mins for ~160 delivery points a while back.

If they are not nested, as per spec, that is 7 items to filter (before we even talk about any letters for the next address) while stationary which will use more outdoor time.

Extra indoor and outdoor workload, more likely to create extra cut off and/or overtime.*


* Too many OPGs, at least at my depot, put all "pressure" overtime down as extended delivery. If your 318 states you should be leaving the depot at 1000, but you left at 1030, the first 30mins of any overtime claim should be against INDOOR WORK, not extended del! If you have 7 D2D one week taking up that extra indoor work time, state that on the overtime sheet.

Easy,I'm a P/T and my round is supposed to be prepped for me,it's usually part prepped when I get in with stuff left all over the frame,all this has to be cleared out of the way to make room to lay out 7 d2d's on my frame,then I have to try and wedge 14 D2D's in a slot that already has mail in it,welcome to the world of part time workers.
