have the managers given up??

every day they come round asking how much we are leaving behind as we have no chance of completing on time which they know even if they are passing upwards the reports that every thing is fine and dandy and working well, every day those that do not want to stay out say anything from 2 to 4 loops and the lapsing (no one can understand why we are still doing this)then the managers have to organise some way of covering the mountain of cut offs that are left behind , which means they stand around in a group wondering why we are out so late, but they still keep us on the IPS and sorting packets later and later taking staff from the sorting to do other things , it is only the fools that give them time by coming in early, no breaks not booking the OT when they finish late that can finish even close to time .the rest cut off or stay out for hours for the OT
they have to leave any mail they could not cover on the day untill early the next day and send some posties out at 7 o clock to deliver so some lucky people get 2 deliveries a day (if only they knew) which means that we have even less indoors in the morning so we get of the ips even later and get out later and so leave more cut off and so it goes on ,lurching from one day to the next

Exactly what our office is like ,a total joke .I think all these crazy runners and early starters should be transfered to the same office preferably not in Cumbria ,you tell anyone out of work what goes on in our office and they think your joking

According to our office manager it's the quietest January ever. But then again the last 3 managers before him have said the same for the last 10 years. They then tell you that lapsing is off when it's humped, thinking that they are doing you a favour. Tragic waste of space the lot of them.

I have seen a DSM suspended and subsequently moved to another area when one of his DOMs did not report an office failure so what has changed now. Falsifying traffic figures and failuring to report failures is tantamount to fraud and has always been a serious offence within the business ... without pointing the finger how widespread is this practise ??

We simply dont need them, 6 managers under the dom and all the rle and counter staff - yet we have 10+ retired/paid off - GET ALL THESE MANAGERS PAID OFF OR DOWNGRADED TO WALKERS. Ours can't even report van faults or order bands or put grit in the yard yet pay well over the top for someone to come in early to cover their backs

You must work in the same office as me
This week when we had snow on the ground and they could not decide if we should go or not.
One of the linos was making sure everyone had there security badge on.
We assumed this was in case a frozen body was found in a snow drift so they would know who to charge with wilful delay over the failed delivery.

No snow here (yet) but yes i'm a tyke! I'd also like to know what their hours are because you always see their cars parked up at home just after 11am. They turn a blind eye to those coming back 2 hours earlier than the rest but won't help the bigger duties.

In the last 4 years we have had 11 or 12 DOMs and acting DOMS.
They all come in thinking they are going to turn a failing office around.
We are always the worst office in our area at everything.
The smart ones realise after a week and the others a few weeks that the office is broke beyond all repair.
They then tend to either get a transfer or hide in the office pretending to be on permanent conferece call.
Line managers I have lost count. We just eat them up.
We now have 10 walks to absorbe and collections from boxes being added to,our dutys.
Should be fun.
