Transferring to HGV job?

Im currently a postman but have just passed my hgv class 2 and am now thinking of trying to get a transfer to a mail centre driving, should I go to the place i want a transfer to and speak to someone there about possible vacancies or go through my DOM?

Not many class 2 vacancys if any because most lgv duties are half Ce and half c best bet going class one.....

Where are you based? At the moment only HGV 3s run out of MCs - 1 and 2 come under logistics and have their own bases.

RM are REALLY short of HGV drivers at the moment as stated by MRS Green.

HGV 2 on it's own may not be enough for a permanent duty, but it may be enough to get you into logistics so that RM pay for your class 1.

Wouldn't go through your DOM - he won't know jack s**t about logistics. Ring Sheffield (HR) to start with.
