i have solved this age old problem now there is no reason for opg's to not stay out till daft o'clock delivering :nana

What stories do people have of someone at their office Deliverying late
We had a rumour going round last week of a postman finishing at 11 pm

8pm is the latest I know of in our office. A few years ago one of our staff was out on a Sat night in his local pub around 7pm, when a postie walked in with the mail and still had a bundle in his hand :chuckle

We have 14 rural duties and their average finishing time from tomorrow until xmas will be 6pm. That is from a 6am start. They do not seem to mind.

Delivering in the Dark, could well be the title of the next agreement because it seems to be the standard now - because nobody seems to have any idea of how to run a delivery operation.

Heard a rumour of one postie out delivrring til 23:59. He slept in the office until the next day using a mail sack as a sleeping bag and a missorted parcel for a pillow.

And i believe it was two delivery managers working together on one round :shock:

When I used to do overtime, Latest I got done was 2330hrs, did upset customers on shift patterns etc

Haha, if he had any sense he could make a better pillow by stuffing lots of mail sacks into one, and pull up a coffin to kip in. :dance

I think it's written the latest you can deliver is 9pm. What's the point going any later realistically people are going to be more irritated at being disturbed so late and not about having received no post.

Funny thing is if you go out really early the next day delivering failed mail from the day before customers are all impressed by how early it is.
