Delivery to Neighbour

Ok here goes. I have just attempted to opt out of Delivery to Neighbour.

What a palavah.

Had to guess my way through at least 10 processes to get to fill out the form.



Can they make it any harder!!

They definitely don't want people to opt out.

But your postie will now have to carry your stuff allllllll the way back to the office,then there is the NVQ certiticated EX PHG who will have to record it,find a place to put it away,then there is the over zealous screw who will demand from said EX PHG wtf is going on,then the said EX PHG would have to kinda grass on the original postie,then that said postie (your overworked and over stressed one) would be pulled into the office and would then have to explain the whole situ to said screw and hope said screw would buy it,even though said situ is true.

Is it worth it,if you was a nice person you would get on with your neighbours and none of this would happen.

I opted out ages ago, when we first got the letter from RM about it. It was simple then, maybe it has changed.

I do feel that it should have been an opt in scheme, or maybe have something like one or two addresses in a local area where packets could be left, like a local shop or post office. That would have been much simpler, no walking back and forth, just a case of, not in, docket left, packet left at shop, collect after 2 hours.

Yes all the points you have raised are valid.
However after I raised the post this morning after my "Postie" had called twice - once on the way down the road with general letters (no payslip) and once on the way back with a packet (Amazon scanned/delivered) I had the audacity to believe that was it for the day and proceeded to go out.
Upon my return 3 hours later was greeted with a something for you card on the mat!
My next door neighbour had to drag herself out of her sick bed to answer the door to him and then 3 hours later for me.
With my sticker on the door he would have been obliged to take the packet back to the Office. (and hopefully get the message don't run, walk and do the job right first time)

Yes I work in a Mail Centre and no I have no intention of ever doing a delivery.
That being said I have the utmost respect for all Postmen on delivery.
My only request - do the job properly 1st time round it saves you time in the end.

Could be many reasons why the first post didn't deliver it, he could be the walker and the driver did it or as Xmas pressure has now kicked it might have gone out on a packet duty/someone do packets on O/T

My Postie has HCT, has to be seen to be believed. Leaves next door one big push on trolley goes past my gate with him running up my drive, hi-viz half on half off, letters flying everywhere not even half a second to say good morning to a fellow employee. Leaves me catches up with trolley outside next door another big push and off goes the trolley.
Even when tackled about packets he says no not today, and then sheepishly has to cross the road to bring packet he "found" in his trolley.

If my postie slowed down a little he would know whats in his trolley and wouldn't have to come back two to three times a day when once would do.

Ive opted out as i dont want packets going to one particular neighbour but ive spoken to the guy that delivers my address and told him to either leave it in the locker or to put it round the back of my address if im not at home or at work
