Is Every Office Short Staffed?!!!

I think this is Royal Mail's plan..? It seems that we are all working against the tide? We currently have 5 jobs in our office that need covering.....Recently 1 job went up on the website? :( i kinda know what this means.....4 jobs get split between duties at least!

In my neck of the woods (W of Bristol), 11 at one DO, 6 at another, 2 lots of 4 and three lots of 5. And that's just the tip of the iceberg methinks. Still, in 50 days time Xmas is over

My neck of the woods, they gave some EVR's out recently, and the people I know who go to sign on at the job centre are being plagued by DWP staff to apply for vacancies at Royal Mail, at the same office - jobs which are to be seen on the Universal Job Match website!!

Short staffed - yes. Replacing full timers with part timers ? Yes. But isn't a condition of an employer making a JOB redundant that it is not recruitable against according to tax law ? Heaven forfend that RM managers are working a fiddle to save a few quid........

We know people that want to work in our particular DO but they're told there's no vacancies....However a nearby DO has more Posties short than us.....so RM will "Push" applicants towards that DO, even though it's miles away from were the new recruits live. This is obviously a reasonable Management Tactic but the upshot is those New Recruits say, "Stick it I don't want to work all the way over there"! So no one gets anymore Posties!

You have the tools to fight for it in the various agreements, follow the correct procedure doing it and leaves your dom with very little option but to fill those vacancies, usually problem is rep doesn't want to rock the boat in their members favour

Yes it is policy to cull the head count by overworking us all till we die or are paid off IHR so you take your pick.
