Hi

Had a WTL with our manager on Tuesday, saying that a 2nd revision is due for our office around about April 2015, RM wants 1 FT job out, by offering EVR, we have at least 1 person interested. However were also offered a working scenario of 3 weeks of 6 days in, then 1 week off. This has split the office as some want it, some don't, that is fair enough. Would just like to ask anyone on here if they have worked on this format before, and if so what are the pros and cons to it? Also is it viable, as some believe it is more likely to be 5 weeks of 6 days, then 1 week off.

3 weeks of 6 days and 1 week off can be done.

But basically you have to work the 39 hours (or contract) multiplied by 4 - over 3 weeks. So thats 52 hours a week instead of 39 - or 8.5 hours a day every day

we do 3 week on, one week off

grab it with both hands quickly before they change their minds

we love it

our office was split beforehand and we had a vote it was narrowly voted in by about 51% to 49% I think

Had another vote recently and it was 99% to keep it

edit to add Yes we work 52 hours a week

What a fantastic way of working that would be, 13 weeks a year off plus holidays!

added bonus of if you want to work your week off you can and it is all overtime

sounds good,

we got told that the one in 4 saturday off was unachievable at our office, so we don't get more saturdays off as was in the agreement, still 1 saturday in 6 for an office of 72 workers

There are consequences to every decision.
A longer day means either longer deliveries or fewer staff.
No option for more Saturdays off is a free lunch.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

the days are 8 hrs 50 mins long, but we didn't lose any staff.
