I know exactly how you feel, im sure the little critters weren't this busy making webs last year.
I tend to swat the webs in a machete stylie with the letters, must look a right loon going up a path doing this

The other week I managed to get the spider on the letter and post it in the letterbox

AND

you did not pause after delivering the letters, to filter your mail bundle for the next delivery point before heading back down the path (waiving the next address' mail in front of you).

Walked up to a gate the other day, went through, felt a 'branch' brush across my hair, walked a couple of steps and thought hang on, there is no tree there, turned around to see a huge and now damaged web with a huge spider wondering whats just happened.

I hate them spinning their webs in our path each and every day this summer and that's just the management and you get it again on the walk.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the swarms of craneflies emerging from the grass too...feast time for the spiders.
Today, after the first rain for nearly 3 weeks there were great big slugs over many paths, squelching under my trainers and making me slip.
