Are DOM's like Catholic Priests

Apologies to any Catholics but I am referring to the bad old days when child abusers and the like were just moved to another parish.

Does any one know what happens to DOM's who in the past have been found incompetent, dishonest and bullying to opg's or not following ATOS reports etc, I ask this because we had a DOM who was assessed after an external investigation (the order to investigate came from London after they could no longer ignore all the complaints) and he was then removed from our ofiice. A result you might say, but a recent transfer from another area told us he was working and causing all sorts of problems in his old area. So is this a one off or do Royal Mail treat failed DOM's as Catholic priests of old and just pat their head and move them some where fresh?

If you have lazy staff and management fail to deal with that by definition you also have lazy management.

If an OPG works at 50% capacity he gets called lazy, If a manager works at 50% capacity he is called a workaholic.

They are similar to Catholic priests -
If you tell one something (like there is a new aggressive dog at number 12) then they think they need to keep it a secret, just as if they had heard it at confession.
Under no circumstances would they tell anyone else or act upon that information.

I know London must have had a fair few complaints about our DOM (who is still there) about B&H, failing to make reasonable adjustments, ignoring ATOS reports. I also know of a crooked DSM & DOM who have both taken hefty redundancy pay off only to go and work for Royal Mails main competitors as operation managers, fckin stinks me thinks

Shows some of the skills and experience of our managers are in demand by our competitors. You could go and work for them too if they offered you a job!

Thanks but no thanks, although i'm not one of the greatest fans of the bully DOM I do rather find it perversely challenging pitting my wits against the skills and experience of them, so i'll stay put for the time being, at least until they eventually find an excuse to get shut of me
