advice from any of you union reps out there .

cut a long story short had dog bite,approx 4 weeks ago ,filled out Erica form etc union been imformed and police , the police gave me option take it to court or they would go round and see owner give them a last warning and a stern lecture etc,i chose this option,ive sent a photo to union regarding my bite,my work mates have said I could get some compensation,im not sure as I have not heard anything from the union,is it a long process the union have to go through,what are my chances,ive paid my subs for years,would be nice if the union could fight my corner ?

Nothing will happen. Because you obviously haven't rung the CWU free legal helpline, where you report it and get a case ref. no. etc. then fill in your form they send you about the incident. The rep won't and can't initiate a claim him/herself.
