My partner has been off sick all week and I've just found out that he's off for 2 weeks holiday starting next week.
Anyway he has our firemans key which is pretty essential for our duties.
Asked the DIM to borrow one till he got back but he refused saying that since privatisation its not company policy to give or use firemans keys. He did have a spare one in his draw which I suspect will be available to his favorites.
He mentioned that its come down from on high and another postie said he read something about it in the Courier. My jobs a nightmare without the key as I can only get into a number of bloxks once a week (Saturday) DIM doesnt care.
So anyone with a reference to the no firemana key rule?

All i can say is you are not supposed to use any sort of Fobs or keys to get in to anywhere
i found this out recently while trying to sort revision out
i pointed out to my dim that if i did not use a fob key to get into my blocks then it would take me a lot longer to complete my duty
he just said well you are not supposed to use them

You can buy one yourself from eBay for less then a tenner. or off a lift engineer who also use them for their their job. I've got 3, bought the last one off a lift engineer for £15. Do a lot of docket, so the time I've saved is worth every penny.
