Trainee Managers getting a duty in a re-pick

Our office is in the middle of a re-sign the problem I have is there are 3 guy who were postman in the office but moved into management..2 not even working now in my office..These 3 guys have been allowed to take a pick so that's 3 walks I can't pick..These guys have not done a walk in over 3 years but are labelled trainee management so are allowed a pick surely that's not right..Spoke to my REP regarding this matter with no joy..Can anyone in the know shed any light on this matter is this common practise in other offices cheers

Imagine your office covering these 3 duties for free, sounds like a savings plan.

Managers are only 'trainees' for two years I believe... after that a vacancy arises... you need to get some clarity in writing... if not just vote 'No' when it comes to the vote whether to accept the revision or not...

Ours picked the easiest duties going, ready for the day , should they be back walking, they will just get it back and kick off the guy who has done it for 2 years. stinks.

We done it the other way round... had our re-pick then voted 'No' for the revision as a package...

They will still be classed as working in the office and are entitled to a pick. I guess they will also have annual leave allocated within the office as well. Id be more concerned if you haven't had any staff made up to temporary full time (if the trainee managers are full time) to cover the missing hours.

1 at ours took a duty, (34hrs) never walked it once in 3 years, then we had some ft jobs going, providing you gave up your duty and became a reserve, he got 1 of them too!

We had two trainee managers re-pick duties last time around.
Their seniority meant other full-timers lost their duties only to then see part-timers be made up and take over from them; this didn't go down well.
It also resulted in additional resourcing problems for the DOM last December when the trainee mangers were supposed to return to their 'home' depot.
Neither is likely to pound the pavements ever again. If they had to go back on delivery they would probably choose a rural duty away from our place.
