Lost Recorded Delivery receipt - Rant split

I have lost the recorded delivery receipt with the code on it. Is there any way that we can recover the code from the receipt if the intended recipient hasn't received the letter? If we said which post office it was sent from and the address the letter was sent to, would they be able to find a record of the transaction which has the code on it?

Recorded delivery was the right option in terms of what the service delivers - I just need to prove whether or not the item reaches its destination, it doesn't matter if the item gets lost as long as I can prove that it was sent and that it didn't reach the recipient.

My problem in this case is that I lost the receipt and so I can't check if the item arrived or not. Is there any chance I can get hold of the code from the receipt?

What a pointless and factually inaccurate comment. All the lack of receipt/tracking code means is exactly that. The sender is still the sender, and they still have rights under Royal Mails compensation policy.

Its in english I don't see the reason for confusion. My local PO keeps a record of all recorded and tracked items in case regulars ask. The official part was referring to the Policy of not keeping a track of barcodes for Recorded/RM Signed For items.

Its in black and white in the Christmas agreements and various others, people have also posted quotes direct from Moyas office proving it. What do you need to accept it, a personal visit from Moya - Dream on.

However, you do post opinions and assertions which is fine but you rarely expand on them, or provide corroborating links, which is also okay except in the Customers forum.
