On Saturday after trying to track down a missing Special, i ended up on Track and Trace - it showed the item as being scanned 4444 Address Inaccessible.
Now i scanned the item and know it was scanned as being Allocated to Enquiry Office.
So i checked a few Specials and Signed for items that i had just recieved back into the office and low and behold they all showed up as 4444 Address inaccessible.
I rang IT but the dept that deals with that sort of thing had closed at 12, so i have to ring back tomorrow.
Just wondering if anyone else connected with RLE has come across this or is it just an issue with my scanners?
The obvious work around for the moment is to allocate the items to 002C - callers office in the allocation function, rather than using the allocate to enquiry function.
clearly the scanners i have are using the incorrect allocation code, which is built into the software.

Re: Star Scanners Fault Noticed
Were the items scanned in on a barcode that was printed somewhere or did you select an option from a menu? Maybe the barcode number that was used before has a different meaning now.

Re: Star Scanners Fault Noticed
Been in contact with the Star Scanners Project Manager today.
Apparently this is a national issue and is being investigated.
As previously explained if you use the Enquiry Office allocation function in the delivery menu to scan items being booked into the callers office, then Track & trace will show those items as Delivery Inaccessible 4444.
This is obviously incorrect as it would apply that under RM correct procedure - we are going to attempt re-delivery next day, when actually the item is awaiting instruction or collection.
The work around is to use the Allocate function, from the delivery menu and either manually input duty ref 001C, or if you have the printed barcodes you would you the relevent one.
I'm guessing there will be an update to software when they rectify it and this is done automatically. Whether or not we know it's been done remains to be seen.
