Lapsing -CSS operators
There are plans to lapse 1 of our 6 night CSS operator jobs every night for the summer, moving 1 person to earlies. Just fondly remembering the days when we had agreements about number of operators, time spent on machine etc,etc

This is happening all around the country, but I don't think they can move a person off nights onto earlies unless he agrees?

2 machines in our office,
tuesday night onwards we have an assist, that assist is quite elderly and incapable of doing a walk now, this is the reason he went on nights, he couldn't hack the walking anymore,
he is the only person they could take off us to lapse !
the jobs hard enough at times with an assist !
but if they did remove him, they better not expect the same performance..

They actually cut one of our CSS duties completely.
We used to have 4 operators for 2 machines, now it's 3.
When we fail, we now do it in style! With a smile on our face.
We got a lot of support from the delivery staff when we were fighting it, (not) and it still hasn't triggered the final £200 from the 2010 deal for the office. Oh and the delivery staff have an extra 45 minutes IPS and 10-12 p/t walks to throw off, so they're really happy now.
Still on the bright side, it's protecting full time jobs, except for the ones that have left on EVR that are not being replaced and the other 4 that are retiring who are being replaced by p/t'ers.
