Van hijacked in Camberley?

Anyone heard about this. Heard that the postie was beaten up yesterday and the van stolen.

I fear that if true...he's gonna have tried to defend his mail...if so that's ridiculous....I'd be overjoyed if someone stole my bags....I'd be more than compliant

Vehicle Theft in Cuddington Today

Today, a courier driver had his van stolen whilst delivering to a house on Bridgeway. He had left the engine running while he removed the parcel from the side door of the van. As he was doing this, the robber jumped into the van and drove off.

It is probable that he was being followed in a car by the thieves just waiting for the opportunity. Unfortunately for the driver, his mobile phone was in the vehicle, as was a van full of parcels to be delivered.

probably will get the sack, bloke at ours did similar last year and got his marching orders.
keys left in ignition is the big no no, should have said they forced him to hand them over,

It doesn't actually say that he is a postman, just describes him as a courier in a plain white van.

A bloke I know got sacked about 20 years ago after having his van hijacked. He was on his usual rural round, left the van running while he knocked on a door with a parcel, a woman comes running out of next door screaming with her husband chasing behind her, sees the van running so jumps in it and drives off then abandons it a railway station. What are the chances of that happening in a rural area? He was very unlucky.

It was a courier not a postman.
The postie on that delivery saw the courier in the local shop soon after,said he looked quite upset!
