I have a on going issue with the Management, with the DOM trying his best to delay dealing with the issue due to operational reasons. I do not wish to say any more for fear of id myself.
but have some questions ,I may or may not have the help of the CWU .
HOW DO I PUT A GREIVENCE IN ?
DOES ANY THING ACTUAL GET RESOLVED BY A GREIVENCE ?
IF YOU PUT A GREIVENCE IN WERE YOU HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME AND PROCEDURE.
Any info weather private or public will be very appreciated
Also where can I get a copy of managing surplus staff agreement ,must be on the forum somewhere ,but where.

Re: Greivence
Grievance would normally start at a 1st stage individual grievance if you are raising an issue with your 1 st line manager who has 5 days to reply to your grievance. \\if your issue is with your 1sst line manager then you will have to complete a 2nd stage grievance which involves notifying Employee Relations on Sheffield and will be heard at the next level of authority. If grievance is still not to your satisfaction then you will be informed at the 2nd stage if you wish to take further to a 3rd stage grievance and ER will appoint a manger either in your work area or outwith your area to investigate the matter. Does grievances actually work well sometimes but not always.

Re: Greivence
Being very careful what I say here , its a issue that affects a group of us ,and a issue only Dom level can deal with as it is more a office issue than a individual issue. The Dom is a very nice person in a difficult situation with ,many issues both from the workforce and the area managers.
I want raise a issue that concerns a small group of us ,but has wider implications for the whole office ,Dom blames CWU Reps for not talking to HIM /HER .Reps Blame DOM for not talking to him/her .
I want to force the issue and get the DOM to make a decision without running away from it ,what he /she is currently doing .
IF I currently put a letter to the Dom ,I expect it will be filed in the nearest waste paper bin.
I simply want to raise a important issue and ensure it receives fair attention instead of being binned.
Any other suggestions would be welcomed.
THANKS TO EVERY ONE WHO HAVE GIVEN ME INFO ALREADY.

Re: Greivence
You could ask your union rep to organise an informal meeting with your DOM with a spokesperson from the group concerning this issue for a " clear the air" discussion. If you decide to go into the firing line on behalf of the group make sure you have the backing of the others that you are representing as if it turns nasty your so called colleagues might have second thoughts and leave you high and dry.
