Differences of being made permanent

Been told today that Im going to be made permanent soon. Im on a 25hr temp contract and it's good news. What I havent done is discussed if there is any changed in the hours? Do the hours you do on a temp normally stay the same when moved onto a permanent and what other advantages are there being a permanent apart from wondering if your gonna get a new contract every 3 months?

I was upgraded to a permanent contract from a 12 month temporary one last month, no explanation or anything it just turned up in the post. Hours remained the same so just the added benefit of not having to worry about getting it renewed when the time came.

I guess it means I can put more away into the pension as well.lol
