39 hr contract to a sa contract?

I think there is a misunderstanding here.

If you mean SA to be Scheduled Attendance (A form of contracted overtime) then the answer is NO. SA in most cases is voluntary not contractual and you can withdraw from it with 28 days notice on either side. Its also paid at a higher rate that both overtime and normal pay.

If you don't mean Scheduled Attendance but something else then we need to know what SA means in this context.

Yes I mean scheduled attendance, the union bloke reckons they can put me on it but have to give me 12 days notice so is he talking crap

and in the SA Agreement http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... ce#p386213" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it states what happens if there are not enough volunteers of the correct pay grade, and sentences that include "will be offered" - I can't see anything about being compelled to do it.

If you rep is backing up the Manager then I would suggest contacting the Area Rep or even HQ (but go through the branch first).

They want to put me on a SA cause they don't have enough people to do rotating day so there saying that I have to go on a SA
