Uniform. Why am I not surprised?

Had to laugh today when I ask my lino if he had ordered some new trousers and shorts I asked for on Saturday. Unsurprisingly he said no, and when another manager (standing next to my lino) asked why I needed them, I explained that: since starting this job nearly 15 months ago, I have lost about 1 and a half stone in weight and they don't fit anymore. The linos seemed to think that It will be very unlikely that I'll be given new uniform so I just said fine and I'll just wear my own clothes. He said 'no you won't'. I just can't talk to these morons anymore.

Royal Mail prides itself on its brand name and your uniform is an integral part of that brand and reflects the image of RM. If your linos are content with you visting various addresses with your trousers round your ankles or looks as if you are suffering from malnutrition because you are too overworked to have a proper meal break then this is not the image that Moya Greene envisages and you should e-mail direct to Moyas office with the names of the linos.

Last time I ordered online they arrived within 3 days. Just do it yourself!

I'm starting to realise that I'm relying on the managers too much; they're useless.

I've always rang up myself, then I started doing it online. The problem is, when you have had your allocation, it doesn't work, you have to get a manager to authorise it. If anyone knows how to do this online, I'd be grateful My manager is useless.

If you've only been in the job 15 months, it's unlikely that you are due more uniform.

It isn't your manager who authorises the uniform, it is a uniform's manager.
At the end of the process there is a box where you can explain why you need the new uniform (lost/shabby/lethal). This is then looked at by the manager and he decides if you are worthy or not. Your local manager is completely out of the loop.

I would have thought that my manager had to look at the old trousers (or whatever) to decide if I really did need new ones. So this uniforms manager just decides if I can have them or not? I'll have to have another look online as I need trousers and a fleece desperately.
