Opt out of shares.....

Why are we constantly bombarded with opt out forms and information how to do it? I don't get it

Totally agree, in the past week we have received a 42 page pension booklet, courier newspaper, 2 courier news flash handed out at work, opt out letter for 2014 shares (no pre paid envelope supplied like last year!).
Couple of weeks ago a booklet on bullying and harassment!

Next week the employee survey starts, people with a royal mail email address can complete it online, us mere mortals will have to endure a tell session to complete it.

Oh and in the pipeline is another mailing asking us which charity of the year we wish to support, I shall put it with the charity calendar I didn't ask them to send me.

They are our employers and shouldn't be allowed to keep bombarding us in this way.

You pipped me to it,why would anyone opt out of a chance for free money? It's almost like they've realised there gonna have to pay millions out and thought "f**k me,we'd better ask who wants to opt out".

A quick question...Do we have to activate our shares in any way or do we not have to do anything at all,are they automatic...apart from this opt out form? I know the opt out form says we don't have to do anything but I seem to remember at the time a few people mentioning they had to activate them or something' along those lines

absolutely nobody in our delivery office is filling in the survey until we get our £200 we are STILL owed for the revision.
The DOM wants us to fill in the form and write on it about the revision money to cover his arse about the amount of forms filled in

Because if you don't believe that the privatisation of the Royal mail is good for those that work in it, those that rely on the service or indeed for society in general then you have 2 options.
1. Accept the money that arises from the privatisation you don't believe in or
2. Opt out

I opted out the first time. I will opt out again.
There will be further job losses. There will be an erosion of the service we provide.
Sticking a few grand in my back pocket in a few years isn't going to make me feel any better about it.
The money isn't free.

And I think you'll find offering an opt out is a legal obligation.
There may be some people who can't/won't accept shares on moral/religious grounds.

The activation was only if you wanted to be able to check your shares on-line.

I take it you both opted out of the shares then?

I don't understand anyone opting out, if you don't want the money then take the shares and give it all to your favourite charity or someone you know who is struggling. Just don't give it back to RM.

Totally agree, by opting out you're playing into their hands. They'll only be sold at a later date or used as some kind of fat cat incentive scheme. Pointless protest.

The rejected shares will be redistributed between the 150,000 staff who have accepted the shares, which they must hold on to for at least three years.
