Poor Public Knowledge of NHS Info Share is RMs Fault
According to Tim Kelsey the National Director for Patients and Information in the National Health Service,
as some people say they received no mailout regarding the proposed sharing of doctors records with hospitals.
So the fact a piece of unaddressed junk mail wasn't read and probably binned unthinkingly means we didn't deliver it?
Or did we really fail to deliver to vast swathes of the UK?

Fewer than a third of adults (29%) recall getting a leaflet about changes to the handling of medical records, a poll for BBC Radio 4's PM programme suggests. I would have thought that stacks up really well with the stats for most other D2D leaflets (probably much less than 20%).Sidley wrote:According to Tim Kelsey the National Director for Patients and Information in the National Health Service,

My duty did not even get them, used the spare in the office until they ran out. My house did not receive them, totally different postcode. Something or someone did not get this right.

It wasn't exactly eye catching or attention seeking.

If ,as you say they are discarded straight away ,along with the rest of the unaddressed items we deliver,it brings us neatly on to what percentage are actually read,as opposed to just binned automatically, RM are most insistent that unaddressed mail works ,but then they would say that wouldn't they? I am not so sure it is as good as they claim ,from what people who have used this system tell me. According to the Sunday Times a few months ago, Ofcom were going to be asked to deal with this very issue of unaddressed mail now RM is privatised.Sidley wrote:According to Tim Kelsey the National Director for Patients and Information in the National Health Service,

Even fewer people would have seen it if it was "nested" inside a pizza leaflet or something.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

If businesses get the target response for the outlay of cash to RM to provide the service then they will continue to use it. You don't really think that the service we provide for D2D's isn't monitored in some way by them, that would be pretty stupid? Major companies continue to use us as they know that we deliver a high percentage of them and they get the response rates.
When you look at the NHS D2D it is clearly a cost cutting affair that should have been done as an individual letter, hardly catches the eye. It really is a get out clause so they can say they notified us of something to do with our personal details, pathetic by them in times of supposed austerity.

I delivered mine with four other leaflets , so I guess its impact was lost and binned by most receiptants on mass, as is the case most weeks

My understanding is that this a project of NHS England and not Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, so only Royal Mail offices in England would have been given the leaflet.

Indeed even small organisations track them, in a previous job it was part of my job. Our response rate was considered very high as its was consistently between 4 and 6% - other companies who were competitors tended to consider a 3% response rate, with a 1% overall sale rate as successful.
On an average delivery of between 500-600 delivery points would mean a response rate of 15 and a sale rate of just 5.

And some addresses are opted out of Door To Doors.
No good them then saying 'we didn't want the double glazing leaflets but we would have liked an important one from the NHS'.

If delivering them and you have Opt Outs you should have been told to deliver them regardless.Lounge Lizard wrote:And some addresses are opted out of Door To Doors.
