Sellotape, towels, even books stuffed into lightweight letterboxes to stop them rattling in this windy period.
What do you find and is it a hindrance?

Blue tack works well. It's not a hindrance and seems to do the trick. Much better than cello tape, that seems to get in the way as do all the cloths and things people stuff in their holes!

Had one today with an empty minced beef tray stuffed in it from the inside!

One house uses a folded up piece of carpet, wedged in so tight I can't shift it out the way. but usually tea towels or some sort of super sticky gaffa tape.
out of interest what do others do?
A) carefully remove the obstruction, post the mail and replace.
or
B) if its loose enough, push it right through with the mail, no time for that nonsense!
usually it's B for me, unless i'm suffering from a rare case of "the good moods" then it'll be A

They've got no chance of me knocking. If I can shove the mail through with whatever is stuffed in the letterbox I will, if it's taped up i'll rip it off providing it isn't covered in the stuff, and if it's well and truly blocked I just write on the mail and try again the next day.
