Rota week ?
Hi I've been working for the Royal Mail 2 weeks now, my friend works in a different office and every 5th week he gets a week off ? He says everywhere gets this ... Is this true as there has been no mention about it in my office ?

It means, usually, they work 5 weeks/6 days a week (about 52 hours ish), and get the sixth week off as a rest week.
It doesn't happen everywhere. Every office negotiated/voted for their own attendance patterns.
Ask the line manager what the local patterns are. Or, preferably, another postie/union Rep.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.
