Re: Shares
Not for swim it's not - well you can pretty much quantify the price of principle now it's about £5.80 x the number of shares duebringon4dayweeks wrote:is this a joke ?SWIM wrote:if you opted out can you opt back in so to speak?

Re: Shares
I severely doubt it.
Think you'll have to accept that.
It would take a large 'good will' gesture on the part of the company to over turn your decision.
And, RM hardly has the best reputation in recent years, with regards to how it treats its employees.
You could ask your manager or HR, but they would probably laugh rather loudly in your face.
It may make your managers day though.

Re: Shares
I'm sure sticking to your principles was worth more to you than the cash.
Rather you than me though.

Re: Shares
I'm not sure whether your shares even exist any more.
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2011/5/section/3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Technically that would probably mean that if everybody else in Royal Mail had declined them I would get 10% of the shares(£580 million) to myself.

The company must give(or will eventually give) 10% of the company to the employees at or before the point when the government sells it's final shares...they can't keep any of those shares back so the shares "belonging" to those who refused them will have been or will be reallocated among those left. Those arrangements must secure that if at any time the proportion of the company owned by the Crown is reduced to nil, the proportion of the company owned by or on behalf of the employee share scheme is at that time (or has before that time been) at least 10%
Technically that would probably mean that if everybody else in Royal Mail had declined them I would get 10% of the shares(£580 million) to myself.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: Shares
It stated on the opt out form that your decision can't be changed. However it says on page 7 of the RM Guide to Shares:SWIM wrote:if you opted out can you opt back in so to speak?
no laughing at the back.
If you choose to opt out of the free shares offer, this will not affect your eligibility for any offer of shares we may decide to make under the SIP in the future.
So although you have no chance of getting the shares you turned down, you may still get any future shares that RM decides to hand out.
