Cost cutting at my office is getting ridiculous

I've been on the same walk now for about 10 weeks. They've just taken the full timer off the walk and it is being prepped by night staff till 8.45. I come in at 9.10 to bundle up and find the IPS is still full of mail, parcels havn't been collected and chucked out etc. This started on Monday and for the last 4 days, me and the other part timer havn't gotten out til gone 10 o'clock. And to add insult to injury, they still want us to lapse. The same thing is happening on another 2 walks and the part timers on them are in the same boat. Seriously getting naffed off with it all

Seriously - cut off, it's all they understand. I get hold of the manager and say look, I have all this to do, if it's like this tomorrow I'll have to leave something behind, I can't work overtime. Like magic, it'll all be done the next day.

There are now new toilet roll dispensers, three pieces and it locks...............it can be a little embarrassing shuffling from one cubicle to the next

We can still nick as much toilet roll as we want , mind you the sellotape plays havoc with your skin because the sheets come out one piece at a time

no you do not have to work more. nobody does. you take enough work to take you to time. if your manager says you have to collapse more then just say fine im cutting off more. before we would do it , possibly. dont make it work for them. there trying to save as much money as possible and all that will happen if you meet the targets is even more collapsing.

Here's a trick though, your staff is due to leave @ say 9.50 but some are ready @ 9.30, you say to those, take x amount of work extra and you can go early, dangling the carrot of x doesn't = later finish and if they finish early can still be sent out with excess work if there is some left. It's a gamble but one many are prepared to take. I think it's the precursor to a Can Do work culture.........................beware the long stiff brush making an appearance

Like this at my office pal all part timers suppose to walk in all walk prepped etc not a cat in hells chance. Sometimes get out 11 11.30 ish then expected to lapse as well all lads laugh at me every time I walk in office if it's not done I say working to my time they know what's coming next lol. No full time contracts being offered at my do either all 24 hour that's it

I think theres more chance of winning the lottery than getting a full time contract with RM. What annoys me is they say that they will keep 3 quarters of the work force full time and there will be a regular audit to make sure this is so. The last person to be taken on full time in my office was over 10 years ago. Theres not a cat in hells chance that 3 quarters is full time.
