It would seem that Royal Mail are pushing ahead with their interpretation of this without any input or involvement from the CWU or if there is any input I've yet to see any communication coming from HQ.
Indoor workplans are being changed outside the revision process to fit ever changing daily resourcing models. There is no structure or stability to this new model, everything is fluid and members won't know from one day to the next what they will be doing.
It seems they have binned the idea of dedicated staff for each indoor role in favour of a more flexible "can do" attitude.
Business as usual as they say now can someone give Bob a poke?

Already happening in our DO. Night machine operators being asked to prep D2Ds to enable lapsing.
Lapsing on Monday and Tuesday regardless of traffic.
Trying to give cover men Mon or Tues off to enable lapsing.
Offering Mon or Tues on a permanent basis to anyone that wants them.
Then when we can't clear packets on Weds staff are sent out with them the following morning instead of going on stack which is even more lapsing.
How should I vote in the ballot because I can't see things changing.
I personally think it's a good idea as long as it's done properly.
I'd like to see the work load being even. It annoys me when those throwing walks off are struggling yet those on the sorting are flying out of the door because there's very little sorting. Or those on packets wont go on the sorting or vice versa. Every day is different and if we all worked together to make the day easier it would make us all happy. Rather than "I don't do sorting I just do packets"
I won't agree with it though if it means they're going to cut hours and just force us to do more work to cover for the loss of hours.
Indeed, Fishtank. They are trying that on at our DO which is going through a Revision. Having agreed a 6.30am start time for all (excepting early morning sorters) they now want to 'Resource to Demand' meaning they want to vary our start time. Talk about moving goal posts, RM want to move the whole f*cking pitch!
Ahebban - anglo-saxon in origin - meaning 'Wages War'

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.
It's happening in our DO and we are going through 2nd revision since 2010
We have guys sorting wave 1 and someone different doing wave 2 someone different doing pkts and guess what??? someone different doing redirections all on the same feckin delivery Talk about too many cooks, this is how mistakes are made on deliveries cos they are not just lapsing duties but actual duty holders, I would prefer the old system of doing the whole shebang myself and knowing nothing was amiss.
This is just a piece of cack

Well he wouldn't be my first choice but if he's prepared to wear lipstick and fishnet stockings with a blonde wig and speak in a falsetto voice I'd be open to an EP of 66 and yes it's 66.
