What does your office do with TNT letters that comes through the system?
In my office we have a pigeon hole for C9 TNT letters some people in the office think all C9 letters go in this pigeon hole and get sent to the mail center to be counted and charged then get delivered but some posties are putting them in the pigeon hole day after day week after week not wanting to deliver them.
My understanding is if they come from the mail center with two orange bar codes on then they have been processed counted and charged ready for delivery.
If they have no bar codes on then they get sent to the mail center.
Some posties and managers are in dispute about this as we now have four boxes of TNT letters everyday same letters coming in and going through the system day in day out.
What do you do in your office please?

We sort them to the appropriate walk and deliver them.

Surely what is happening in your office can be deemed as wilful delay ??
And wilful delay is against the law.

If they've got two orange barcodes on them then they've been sorted by an LSM, IMP or iLSM and will have been counted by the machine. The only DSA items that are supposed to get surcharged are ones that aren't proper to an area. eg, the post code on the letter might be say BS44 but the local MC might actually cover say EX/TQ

If your talking about the letters that TNT are supposed to deliver themselves, if they end up in our system they are surcharged.
Getting loads of them now, whether they can't find the address and box them, misdeliveries , gone aways or even redirections they haven't paid RM so they are charged.

Other problem is we redirect mail then TNT deliver to the address with the redirection and name on it we get blamed when the complaint comes in.

If the licence number is C910002 then it's a DSA item and should get delivered (unless it's a missort for another Mail Centre in which case it goes back to Revenue Protection to deal with). Having the orange tags from a machine isn't really relevant to whether or not the item is paid for. DSA works in the same way as PPI - the customer puts in a docket and that's what they get charged (subject to any issues found in Rev Pro checks)

If the licence number is CL102 then it's a bypass item and should go to Revenue Protection to deal with
