Starbursting was originally a team of 4 or 5 posties going out and delivering in an area, then piling back into the bus and moving on to the next burst.

Starbursting is now used in some offices as a term for lapsing/absorbing.

It was comical and another fail from RM.

They revised it for absorbtion at one point where you all got sent out before the last missort run turned up. I rem 25 of us absorbed this delivery once and I was sent out in a crew bus with about 7 others. We all stormed out shouting "lets GO GO GO ! ". Delivered about 15 calls and all steamed back in the van SAS style.

I remember at the time that RM said that they wanted a word that did not mean anything in any language!! How any organisation that had "Royal" and its connections would want to change it I could never figure! Though bollox would certainly fit- particulary nowadays!
