Are the purple stickers put on tracked items mandatory or is it at the discretion of the office?

At our office quite a few people miss scanning the item at the doorstep and have to fill out a form explaining why they missed the scan.

When tracked items are scanned into the office they only get a squiggle on it with a highlighter pen but no purple sticker.

I'm sure there would be less of a problem if the stickers went on every item highlighting it is tracked.

We used to put the stickers on our office, then it stopped for a particular 'policy' reason but I can't think what it was!

I had a tracked with a purple sticker on today , no probs with that but they stuck it and covered half the bar code

ours always have a sticker on, if you're out and notice 1 without it means its not been scanned into the office,
depending on what mood, i'll just scan and post if heavy day and raining but usually take a piccy if i deliver it and scan it when i get back to office

Not all our tracked have the purple sticker on so it's so easy to miss especially if it's a small Amazon package. Many times I've nearly posted through the door and only noticed at the last minute.

This is quite a significant issue because management are quick to beat you with the conduct code stick for missing one. The purple sticker highlights them and makes them stand out which is the whole point I thought. Staff in the specials locker in our office mark Tracked items with a worn out yellow highlighter to show they've been scanned, how hard would it be to put a roll of purple Tracked stickers on a label gun and stick one on at the same time....

Purple is one of the worst colours, hardly stands out, why didnt they choose something like luminous green, pink or yellow? i dont ever miss an orange recorded but have missed a few tracked.

I don't see why you need stickers, I count mine out (along with the specials) just to make sure I don't miss them.
Plus, the barcode makes them pretty easy to see.

Ours don't have stickers on and I've never missed one, the 't' in the postmark is a dead giveaway no matter how vague the label looks.

Yes, the 'T' signifies tracked item but the postmark for some are so very small and too similar to the '24's and '48's.

Also there are now Tracks for very small packets especially from Amazon and it is easy to see similar packets where one is Tracked and the other is not.

That's what should happen I think but it doesn't in every office. There lies my question.

There's more companies using Tracked now, especially over the last 6 moths -1year.

We stopped putting the stickers on them on nights a long time ago, with the number that come through every night, there is no way that we would have the time.

I don't think that it'll be many years before all mail that is currently PPI or mailsort goes either Tracked or Special. Could well eventually be all business mail.

We've had quite a few that are Tracked but instead of the T they've had 24 or 48.
