Info on postcode registration

Sorry, probably not in the right section but does anybody have any idea where I might find some information on when a building was registered for a postcode?
A relative of mine asked me if I could find out as he is having some grief about ownership of a building that he runs. I would ask a manager but as we all know I might as well ask a brick wall rather than ask one of them

The planning department of the local authority would know the owner of the building that he runs. Their records would also show when the building was constructed, and the application for a postcode.
So i reckon the local authority would be your first port of call.

ok thanks, although pretty sure hes tried that. I thought there may have been a specific department within royal mail who are responsible for registering planning postcodes that he could contact?

On a postcode related subject, a query from a roads forum has raised the question 'are there any addresses with a road number as part of their address'? A Motorway Service Area is an example. Are the deliveries made direct from the motorway?

Only if there is no other way in. Gordano services for instance has access from the A369, Leigh Delamere has little access roads to each side and that's only the two I've checked.

I think ALL Motorway Service Stations have access from local roads for staff and possibly deliveries too.

Addresses are often registered with Royal Mail very early in the building process - at this time Royal Mail hold the address in their 'Not Yet Built' data base.
