Fog patches will become more extensive again on Wednesday evening across parts of southeast England and East Anglia, becoming dense in places. Later in the night this will become more confined to higher ground across the region before clearing later on Thursday morning.
The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to travel.
Light winds and clear skies across southeastern areas overnight will allow fog to redevelop, becoming more widespread, with visibility falling to around 50 metres in places. Later in the night, winds will increase slightly, lifting the fog from low ground and bringing hill fog to areas such as the Chilterns and the North and South Downs.

Strong and gusty southerly winds are expected on Thursday morning. Isolated gusts of 60 to 70 mph are possible across parts of eastern Scotland. The public should be aware that this may cause very localised disruption to travel, with problems for high sided vehicles on prone routes.
Though windy weather will continue to affect much of Scotland, on Wednesday night atmospheric conditions will become particularly conducive to producing very strong wind gusts over and to the lee of high ground in eastern Scotland. These gusts may be highly localised, but have potential to cause some minor disruption, especially to transport, until winds begin to ease during Thursday morning.
