Can anyone tell me what is supposed to be scanned when you deliver a special to a post office for local collection?
Is it the special bar code or the local collect bar code?

You scan the special bar code, the local collect one is for the post office to scan

Anything with a barcode on to go to a post office there is a tear strip on the post office label that you tear off. Obviously any standard packets going to a P.O, you leave that barcode on

Specials, recorded and tracked all keep their original tracking codes when sent for local collect.
The local collect barcode should not be on them at it causes confusion.

We don't even get them signed for by the PO!
Or sign for them ourselves.

Yes thanks, that is indeed what caused the discussion. I always scan the original barcode, my partner the other day always scans the local delivery.
