Every bank holiday week, almost all of us magically get the Monday as our day off and it's amazingly hard to claim the day back, I suspect a lot don't bother (hence why they do it). This year, all 3 bank holiday's I didn't get.
Tomorrow (Thursday) next week's rota will be put up, and I'm betting loads of us will get the Monday strike day off. They'll then have all of us doing a full 5 day week helping to clean the sh!t up. I want them to know I am striking with the rest (quite a strong office) but clearly making a phone call only to lose pay on a day I'm not working anyway would be stupid.
I'm not sure why I posted this now, I can't remember what the question was but I'll think of it in a minute.

Firstly, If you are covering the same duty all week and it has either a fixed or rotating day off you should get that day off.
If it is a 6 day duty (wally,1 in 6 etc) or you are covering more than one duty that week then expect your day off to be the one that most suits the DOM.
On a bank holiday week this will almost certainly be the Monday, but you MUST get this day back in leiu just the same as ANY day off falling on a bank holiday.
As for next week, Happy days! You will not lose any money and you can show your managers and your colleagues you support the strike by standing on the picket line!
Then you can sit back and hold your breath waiting for the (completely non existent) £300 as well!!
