Six days on for five weeks then one week off.

We have always had a rolling day off system in our office, but, a recent vote on the subject has meant that this will now change to six days on for five weeks then one week off, we have been handed a sheet of paper telling us our total hours for each week are going to be 46:48:00 for full time, is this consistent with other offices on the same system???.

Yep, nothing wrong there.90% of my office are on 5-1, best thing we ever done. Just make sure you don't get ripped off with days owed when its implemented as you will all be put into Rotating Weeks.....1 to 6.

I could have matched my leave with it so I could have some really long holidays.

Been on that since I started 4 and half years ago. It's great. 13+ weeks off every year.

yep, same here, I wanted that system but out of 46 staff only 2 of us voted for it, postal workers don't like change, mores the pity.

It is nice to have week off every 6 weeks but it make booking day off harder or long weekend. It will mean more holidays trip as long you can afford it. Downside is longer working week :(

Yes.
They tried to get my office onto it, but we refused.
The time off would be nice, but the longer working week and longer hours would kill me.

We voted against it apparently twice now, never saw the results of either vote. would love to have it . more time with the kids, more time to get jobs done.

Push for 1 in 4 off it is amazing. 3 weeks of 52 hours a week followed by 1 whole week off.

It's not one that gets me excited, if I need to make a quick extra buck then I can work my day off. The week off would be nice at the time but your first day back would be depressing knowing you've got 5 straight weeks working 6 days.

We've had this system in about a third of the office for 10 years and up until 2010 and the revision we had no complaints.Everybody loved it and nobody wanted to swap over to the day off scheme...however since the BT2010 revision with longer deliveries and the day off getting 1 in 4 saturdays members have been bailing out left,right and centre.

It's too much work for 5 weeks at 6 days and the 1 in 4 saturdays day off scheme is a better option now.
