On the morning that Royal Mail shares began public trading hard-working CWU members gathered outside Royal Mail's Mount Pleasant site to hear Dave Ward spell out the union's message. In it he pledged that the Union, regardless of who owns the company, will never cease in its efforts to protect jobs, pay and terms and conditions.

What I don't understand is that all the managers i know have all received the same bumf about shares, cwu letters , rm t&c's etc that us slaves have received. Does that mean then they are all staying on with THEIR terms the same as well? Even when they are opposed to strikes and against us .
They need to get out of the office at the same time as us and deliver the post to the customers because there is no-one and nothing to manage after the deliverers go out

In my opinion the first thing the new owners(who ever they are) will be is to destroy the union by any means they can once this obstacle is cleared then they can bring in sweeping measures to change methods and work conditions to maximise profit,so rough waters may be ahead shipmates. B

Without collective bargaining, everytime they want to do anything they would have to negotiate with each individual employee. They would never get anything done. RM need the union. ACAS told me that when I went to them when the union pissed me off about something.
