I'm sure they're in talks constantly, personally I think we'll get a yes vote....a day of strike action will be called, and because strikes affect share prices a compromise deal will b struck averting any strike days, just my opinion of course, anyone else got a scenario to share ?

I agree with most of that.

They might hold out for one day of action as RM never seem to actually believe that people will be willing to give up a days pay. They assume that they have every postie on the bread line and by the short hairs .

Any talks will be conducted in secret. We are never allowed to know what is going on, we are far too stupid to understand a good shafting. In due course, the 2nd deal of the century will be revealed to us.

I am hoping we get a massive yes vote, the £300 bribe says to me that RM are bricking it. A yes vote may well mean that we don't have to take any action.

May have to lose a few days pay first and Christmas is very close I would bet we could get a deal for the good of all soon two months at least.

I'm in an office of about 250 and quite a few that I've spoken to think the result might be close, some have openly said they've voted no, now I can't even begin to comprehend what's going through their minds, but its winding me up big time, now if the result goes against us or the union don't deliver this time after their last debacle who will reconsider their option of staying or leaving the union?

Have thought from the start that there will not be a strike and to me the union have played it all wrong always on the back foot I think I have said this in the past. I think the management also think they don't know what they are striking over as it keeps changing. You can look back to the last strike were they got confused on what they were striking about and calling strikes on all different days . Some offices were forgotten some action illegal. You could not make this up but if they don't get a massive turnout and yes vote what has this all been for?

I would be really pissed if we didnt get some sort of better deal and would consider leaving union at first but i know i would calm down and not leave,as the union membership is vital for local things local reps are worth there weight in gold as far as im concerned.

At our place the general feeling is that it's going to be a yes vote by a sizable majority. Saying that, we are quite a militant lot. We lost a few union members after the last 'Deal Of The Century' but if we actually take any strike action this time, and the Union bods at the top table don't deliver what is expected, I can see a fair few leaving the Branch. Morale is low at the moment, the last thing we want is another kick in the teeth, but if that happens it will be the Union membership which will suffer first.

It will be a big yes vote in ours, but to be honest most people don't really know what for. 10 years protected T&C's borders on the ridiculous, nobody in any other line of work has a guaranteed job never mind for 10 years. Privatisation is signed and sealed, the pay offer is already good.

Don't get me wrong, 99% of us will be out no matter what but plenty just don't really know what the CWU are going to achieve.

This needs to be the No.1 aim but I feel it is probably the one that RM will dig their heels in on as it will probably influence the T&Cs of new recruits, although to be fair I can't see too many of those coming through the door. I believe there will be a sustained attack on the T&Cs of most staff members especially middle/junior managers after a fairly short period of time with only some senior managers and directors being excluded from the process. Just wait for the reasons, I mean excuses, to be rolled out the first of which will probably be to achieve a closer employee cost base to competitors who are lets face it on quite dismal T&Cs in some cases.
