How Late is a Late Delivery?

I was driving on the Wimbourne to Poole Rd last Tuesday when I nearly had the front off my car taken off by a Royal Mail Van. Not so surprised by the erratic driving...that seems par for the course...but it was 20.30hrs! :shock:

Many options flashed through my head as the young dark haired driver had a red polo shirt on....so I ruled out mechanics moving vehicles about....but also ruled out collections at that time of night. The van number turned off towards Bournemouth so I can only assume they're putting in some overtime over there. :crazy:

Couple of days later, on Thursday, I was in the Overton area, in a small village near Basingstoke (Hampshire), and loe and behold there was a Postie plodding down the road with a new style HCT (with wobbly wheels) at 16.50hrs! :shock:

What is going on out there guys? Is this just a bit of lapsing or are these Posties putting in some SERIOUS EXCESS.? :hmmmm

we have guys in our office delivering mail at 8 pm at night, i saw them pushing a trolley just before it was getting dark when i was on the way to the takeaway!!!

We once had a foreign fella postie go out one morning on a delivery, and was never seen again :left:

Bags - gone

Mail was delivered though

we had this foreign guy he only lasted one day, never seen again, packets went missing too.

Thats nothing, Postmen at our office have been delivering up to 8pm before now on docket .
We even have one in our office driving 40 miles from our office to Hassocks in another county to do half a round for 3 hours but the travelling time must be more than that on A and B roads to get there and back. :roll:

He was going too fast to see Clash, it was just a Red Blurr...at first I thought it was Red Arrow on fly by! :dance

To be honest , i dont finish untill around 16.00 most days since revision and lapsing.Thursdays and Fridays later still!!!

I know someone who sometimes does 3 walks in a day

He'll go from office to office picking them all up in the van, and then run around like a lunatic for the rest of the day on delivery. I don't even understand how it's possible, i'm usually shattered after doing my walk, never mind 3 in a day :crazy:

If 16.00 is not your contracted finish time, then you choose to finish then..........otherwise, finish on time, go home, put the kettle on, put yer feet up and f**k em!

I was once in a local pub at 7.30 on a Saturday night when the postie walked in, put the mail on the bar and walked out, by the looks of it he still had half a bag left. :left:

He might not have had permission to be doing whatever it was he was doing at half eight at night.
