The question to ask is just how effective this will be and which side will dig their heels in deeper.

How long/many days could you go without pay say over a 3/4 week period > after that could you keep on doing this ?

Facts are that RM is going to be sold. - That's now a given.

This should have been balloted earlier for sure

they float regardless and witht he strike looming anyway the share floatation isnt a resounding success so the price is under what they "hoped" for.

they push ahead with it the strikes come and go ....they get a 3 year deal...for the problem to be delayed till then.

No it wasn't - not a single share has been sold or issued yet - ergo are still not privatised. The privatisation date, when the shares are issued will be 11 Oct and trading in them will start on the same day as the Ballot result is announced 15 October.

Privatisation date is therefore 11 October 2013. I know its being pedantic, but we have to make sure everyone understands where we are in the process, and that now the fight become more important not less.

The political fight was against privatisation but we can't strike over a Political matter.

The Industrial fight was and remains our T&Cs under either Privatisation or Government ownership. That fact that we are going to be privatised just make the issue more important and more personal.
