help needed with attendance hours, new to full time

I've just been put on 39 hours and I'm confused about my finish times. I know I start at either 6am or 6:45. Are the finish times on the duty sheet the times I go by? They don't seem to add up to 39 hours but I've heard something about getting an extra day off every so many weeks. Can anyone explain it to me?

6am start = 13:48 finish
6.45 start = 14:38 finish

that sounds like what we are having an extra saturday every so many weeks to comply with the 1 in 4 saturdays off

Nope, I certainly can't explain it to you. I'm baffled. I ignore all the times on the duty sheet, as they change randomly, and make no sense. Simply get your start and finishing times in writing, and stick top them.
