While on the subject, can someone confirm to me the address the opt out form goes to? I have an envelope here where all my clutter is,not sure if it came with the opt out form? The address is Aspect house, Lancing ?

Do nothing and you will get shares.

Opt out you get nothing.

What is the point in opting out? It wont change anything in your life by doing so,Just means you miss out on some cash.

dont opt out then you get the free shares which you can sell, its a no strings attached thing, royal mail are rail roading through the privatization, the share are not linked to any agreements, they dont tie you to doing extra work in your office, they are simply free with no strings attached other than the company is being privatized which is going to happen even if 100% of members opted out of receiving them

Do I want to receive my dividend knowing my colleagues are worse off in order for me to attain it?

I agree that opting out will achieve nothing except maybe a clearer conscience.

How will it make me poorer?
On paper you will have approx. £2 000.
In 3 years your paper £2 000 might have grown or it might have shrunk.
I will have exactly the same amount as when I started. I won't be poorer.

Well in reality they aren't giving you free shares! If someone gives you something then they can't take it back, if they are your shares you should be able to sell them whenever you wish, if you leave the company under a cloud you lose them. Those restrictions don't apply to real customers buying shares, there is also the fact that the profits made to enable the sell off has been produced by the work force.

I'll be accepting the shares, who knows it may be a long shot but I won't be investing my own money - in the words of the Dragons in that instance I'm Out.

Opting out is as good as throwing money down the drain,Give your head a wobble and understand how daft you are being.
