Can we still strike...

If a new owner is on place before Xmas? If our terms and conditions are protected for a year atleast can we still strike and give the new owner a headache?

hate to say it, but i reckon it will go through,
i can only base this on our own office obviously, but spoke to others and its the norm.
one is quite a few "i'm all right jack" still come in early, cut corners, leave early, and the boss sees them back an hour or so early so he'll keep collapsing another duty,
another is our union doing nothing to prevent our managers doing our jobs, in ours they must equate to at least 40 hours per week,
i raised this issue yet again and was told by my area rep not to cherry pick faults because i pass my oppo's house on the way back and drop him off and shouldn't , and we must use our trolleys, we only have 1 between us both?
he also told i must take a 30/40 minute break after only been in 30 mins then do a hard 4/5 hrs walking with no break?
thats MY OWN union rep telling me basically to go feck off!
i would never scab but our union is wank, i only stay in it in case a personal thing should crop up.
strike and we'll only lose money, do the job properly , trolleys (if you have them), van checks etc and no overtime then we may have a very slight chance because that will feck them up more,
if any managers start working our jobs, then stand back from the frame, got told other day this was done a few years ago and worked.

People go on about managers this and managers that..too many doors2 doors.. not enough time ......too much work! The privatisation WILL go through easy peesy They will send you out in ICE and SNOW this winter... You will continue to work through ya breaks and COME IN EARLY cos most posties are pussies and except anything!!!
Sorry to be harsh but its true..ITS NOT THE ROYAL MAILS OR THE CWU s fault that the jobs sh*te now its cos the staff are a bunch of" im alright jacks"!!!

Have to agree the flyers have killed our jobs. Going through the repick now was going to picke a nice dutie but the flyer tested it and guess what?.another three roads on it, my offic are 50/50 about striking .privatison will come in anyway the new deal is the best we are going to get ,put it to the vote now

However if you want to look to the future then look no further than Canadian post who have a legally binding NO strike deal.

cwu wont allow a "yes but" or "no unless"
it'll be for industrial action yes or no
no strike and work to the absolute letter of the rules is the only way it'll cause an impact, but that wont be an option made available by cwu

At yesterday's Reps briefing Dave Ward said that boycotting Competitor's mail (DSA) would be on the ballot papers and the lawyers were looking into the wording to be used.The CWU is looking at all options of Industrial Action not just allout striking. You'd better tell any wavering members that this is s**t or Bust time and if it's not a massive Yes vote then they won't have either a Union or a Job.It ain't all over by a long way and there's still a lot to fight for. Moya Greene yesterday seemed extremely worried about the situation and thought everyone would be easily persuaded by her arguments-she just didn't get it at all.We are a very strong Union compared to many others with easy access to Reps-don't lose it!

Totally agree with im ok jack , in our office u have guys giving off about posties coming in early ,running round etc.Then on Saturday do exactly the same thing in early, back an hour early. Saturday is one of the heaviest days yet the least claimed day for overtime .The managers must have a right chuckle at this work force ,I would like to see the clock in /clock out system brought in .Then you would see attitudes change but the PO wouldn't bring it in, managers making big bonuses PO making money ,why change things .So keep running boys il get my £350 a week you get £300 a week for doing same job now whos the mug !!!

We should work to rule, simple. Saves us money, costs them money and gives them major headaches. Strike, you just end up taking it over the next few days anyways, and lose £80 a day. Working to rule actually makes the job easier for us

But has no effect.
Even my managers agrees with me on that.
RM would just employ casuals to cover the work, and staff would lose OT, so people still lose money.
