Well, the results are in! A 74% turnout was not great, more people should have voted, but the results are nearly unanimous!

Q1: Do you oppose the privatization of Royal Mail? YES –96%

Q2: Do you support the boycott of competitors' mail? YES – 92%

Q3: Do you support the CWU Pay claim? YES –99%
Q4: Do you support the policy of non-cooperation? YES –92%

All in the 90s, not bad. What are your thoughts?

A 74% turnout is considerably better than the 13% we got in the Police Commissioner elections! It should be remembered that the government insisted that 13% was a VALID turnout - don't think they've got a leg to stand on about our result!

Consultative Ballot – Update


We can advise that following a Court hearing today after Royal Mail initiated legal proceedings; the Union has given an undertaking that we would not call Industrial Action over the next 7 days in reliance on the Consultative Ballot. On this basis the full hearing has been adjourned until Friday 28th June. In line with the LTB sent out earlier today the Postal Executive will be meeting in due course to consider all the issues covered in the earlier LTB.

Well, the results are in! A 74% turnout was not great?

For a ballot of this size (quite large) 74% is an excellent response rate.

The last General Election had a 65% turnout while Local, European and By-elections are typically around 40%.

Consultative Ballot – Update


We can advise that following a Court hearing today after Royal Mail initiated legal proceedings; the Union has given an undertaking that we would not call Industrial Action over the next 7 days in reliance on the Consultative Ballot. On this basis the full hearing has been adjourned until Friday 28th June. In line with the LTB sent out earlier today the Postal Executive will be meeting in due course to consider all the issues covered in the earlier LTB.

Time to go Moya Don't let us down Mr. Ward your members have backed you no more agreements like the 2010 you know p&l is not working have a look at your burnt out members, 1st on the agenda get rid of higson and his world class rubbish a total waste of money. What do other's want to see changed ?

This was not a real ballot it was consultative. Nothing will change it is the same people at the top in both organisations this was merely a CWU stalling tactic to save face with members before the sell off happens in the autumn of this year were all doomed doomed I tell ya

this has been going around started by the facebook group save our royal mail and its had alot of signatures but the difference is when you fill it out it automatically sends a letter to your local mp for supports !
