New attendance procedure and it's impact on current stages

As somebody who is currently on a stage one warning (Royal Mail) I asked a line manager to come back to me with my position re: my stage warning since the new attendance procedure came in at the end of May 2013. He contacted the advice centre who advised that those who have been taken off stages would have been told by letter by now. I have not had a letter, but have not had any absences since Oct 2012, which was seven months without absence at the end of May 2013. To me the answer is very vague and I am not sure where I stand. Is any one else in the same position? It is also annoying that we cannot find out our status direct from HR.

I have dealt with many of these as a rep,you are clear,all your line manager has to do is access the psp which contains all the relevant information,for clarification there are NO letters being sent and Gary Burgess(HR Director) at the south east briefing on the rollout stated you would be able to find out your status locally via your line manager.

Further to that it was also stated at the Heathrow brief that Doms had to inform all staff where they stood regarding the new procedure.
I dont believe for one second that this will happen because when someone finds out they are clear they will go sick!

I think a lad in my unit has done just that.
He has an atrocious record.

Correct, but get confirmation from the Dom and ask them if all the staff have been briefed about this.Spread the word.

I would say July makes it 6 months not june mate

If you are issued with a warning and you go 6 months absence free or incur 1 absence of 4 days or less you are REMOVED from the procedure.
You DO need to know what date the warning was issued and go 6 months from that date, as line managers are notorious for doing what the DOM tells them and not putting through the paperwork on time.
If you get issued a warning chase your manager up, know the date of issue. Do it in writing, do not let them rest.
a few years ago one member returned to work on the 18th January, had an attendance meeting later that week or the following week, and was given a warning. In december, 10 and a half months later he was off and triggered the 2nd stage of the procedure. when we went through his record we noticed that he was issued with the warning in late April early May for the absence in January, over 14 weeks later.
during a meeting ask from when if they issue it will it be from, and ask them to put it in their notes
Don't let this happen to you, when your manager hands over the paperwork issuing you with the warning and then scuttles off like a little bug make sure it contains the date it will be from.
