We have guys come back with vans after the office has closed and they are given a spare gate key to park the van over the weekend. D/Lefts etc are left in the back of the van.

Reminds me of something that happened in our office about 8 years ago. On a saturday they put this guy on a delivery that he did'nt know, so it took him ages to prep it and pouch it up. Then he had his meal break and finally left the office, he delivered about half a row and then cut off at his finishing time!! Classic 
If i was you i would just cut off and bring it back, just make sure you tell them that is what you plan to do before you go out.

Training....wtf is that?
Being spare....I have done dozens of duties in several offices...both driving and foot duties+++box counter work...never had one days training ever....they just throw you in at the deep end..lol and if you can't swim. You sink.
