Sick pay help please!

Hi Guys, I was off sick last year for a full six months and have now been back at work over my twelve month period I am not on any stage warnings as such but at the time RM said they would cut my pay to half after six months in which I never got to that stage. Problem now I have to have a operation on my wrist do I still get half pay or full? somebody in my office said "They wont pay you full pay again till you work a four year period" where do I stand? Thanks in advance...

So if its a month recovery for me I will get half sick pay the first week I'm off? Is that right? or do they divide it by the four years which I could be entitled 6 weeks seen as I have done 12 months back?

If you have used up your full 6 months entitlement you will be on half pay from day one.
You won't be entitled to full pay again until it's been 4 years since the earliest period of sick in the last 4 years....if that makes any sense.

For example...If you were off sick three years ago for two weeks then in a year's time you would have two weeks entitlement back.

Natahsa your payrate should be at the top of your pay slip so I presume you will get 50% of that.

Remember you will also get Statutory sick pay on top of that.

1. 365 days sick in a 4 year period will result in no RM sick pay
2. 6 months sick in a 12 month period means you will drop down to half pay

Rule 1 overrides rule 2 if the conditions are met.

So you could receive upto 1 year of full pay in a 4 year period but it depends on where the absences fall. If you have only ever had a 6 month absence and that absence ended over 6 months ago then you will get full pay again.

I was on half pay a few years back, but was bumped up by statutory sick pay which was around £80

You will lose about £40-50 a week
