Our P&L revision so far

its been several months now since park & loop. tbh, its not gone as bad as we thought. Everything seems to be clear in the office. of course, there all still lots of cut offs on the busy days, and the managers trying to tell everyone they have no staff to cover the cut offs. But that doesn't stop anyone from cutting off :)

But, nothing really has changed apart from the methods. The managers attitude is still the same. All the part timers have been told they can start anytime they went. So most of them are in before the full timers. and of course the 10 - 2.45 dilvery span only applies to full timers. parts times, they just come in, spend all the indoor time prepping their walks (yes serious) whereas 2 full timers on a paired duty have to split between IPS and prep work. The part timers leave the office and dont have to have their break. full timers do.(which is the best part of the day IMO) the part times can come back and go home as soon as their finished. the full timers (if they come back early) stay indoor to work till their time . (even though we all have 10 - 2.45 delivery span. and this is ok cause the part timers only book in over time if they've worked more hours than their contract. which usualy they dont. so they have that incentive to rush around and go home when their done. thats a nice but sneaky bit of money saving going on there. we all know if you're asked in early you book for prep time. and there are a million other things they do like this. just lame...

oh and trolleys, what a load of s**t. ive used them, and actually i don't mind them. but ive found its much easier, less tiring to split the loops to smaller loops. i just find it very exhausting hauling a trolley for 40 minutes around, feeling that the loop will never end. just my opinion. i do use trolley if its really heavy, but otherwise, its easier to just split the loop further. most of us are using trolleys. but i cant help but think that its abit overhyped. its great they take weight off your back, but like i said, mentally its exhausting.

and welldone planners. for making the walks even more un balanced than before. as soon as the walks were in, they pissed off. no changes have happened to the walks which are about 2 hours too long. they are still there. whatever happened to reviewing the walks to make sure they are all fair. just another lie.

So all the f/t staff work together and all the p/t are paired together?,that seems dodgy as in our office a few f/t work together but it's mostly 1 f/t and 1 p/t paired together with the f/t being the driver and the p/t being the walker.

i say to the managers ummmm ok ... why are you telling me for ? better get your walking shoes on or get someone in to do it.
Management planned it, if theres not enough time on the busy days its THEIR fault.

we havnt had a repixk so ppl are on the duties as they wre before revision. so its a mix across the office. some ppl, like me, im never back early. but some p/t are moanig not enough o/t yet rushing around. just silly.

So, is this a dig at part timers? Are you saying that FT staff never do the same,.

BTW i do not defend the early starter practice

With p&l every one should have the same finishing times no matter what time you start. If some staff are allowed home before there finishing times while others are made to work all their hours. Then you have good reason to ask your DOM. for a b&h form, as all staff are entitled to be treated fairly and equally, if you can get more people with you your DOM will have to change things. This may not mean you go home early but it might make others think twice about coming into work early and rushing around
