39 hour week + bank holidays?

When the 39 hour week got implemented a while ago, our DOM lumped us with 30 minute later starts on Mon/Tues without ever giving us the 12 or 6 minute options. (Presumably as this was saving indoor hours and suited the DOM)

If your rest day falls on a Mon/Tues, you start 30 mins later on a Saturday instead.

With the bank holiday Mondays, we are being told that we start at the normal time on a Saturday, but surely you are entitled to an 8 hour bank holiday, not 7.5hrs?

As far as I can see, the entire office should start 30 mins later on the Saturday, or an hour later if your rest day was Tuesday on a B/H week.

Has anyone seen anything to confirm that the B/H should be an 8 hour (or 7:48hr) day - ideally with something in writing I can print off and wave under their noses.

It might seem petty, but with all the silly games they like playing with us, I don't see why we should work 39.5hrs when it should be 39!

What you have to do is work it out on paper and show your boss. If your right. Hopefully he'll see sense , if your right.

if were day off Monday or Tuesday we come in 1/2 later on the other of these 2 days....

so if your Monday day off we start 1/2 hr later on the Tuesday.

the last bank holiday at the start of may the d.o.m tried to get us in at normal time if we were day of for the bank holiday.
I wrote down our hours,,,,presented him with it and he quickly backed down....hope this makes sense :-

Tue 7 - 2.30 = 7.5 hrs
Weds 6 - 2.30 = 8.5 hrs
Thur 6 - 2.30 = 8.5 hrs
Fri 6 - 2.30 = 8.5 hrs
Sat 5.30 - 1130 = 6 hrs

total 39 hrs

but he was saying we had to turn in at 6 on the Tuesday because of the b/holiday
forget the day being a bank holiday,,,that makes no diff to the week,,,,,,work out how many hours you WILL work the rest of the week,,,,should add to 39 hrs

in our mail centre on nights only an no other shift including 4 nighters an ba staff we lose the full hour on bank holidays, where on a normal Monday we start 2300 so we assume 2300 on the Tuesday following bh but no its always 2200 so bh week for 4 nights attendance we work 32 hrs.

You'll only be working 31.5 hrs this week,

Mon- B/H
Tues- 7.5 hrs
Wed- 0 hrs ( for talking sake day off)
Thurs- 8hrs
Fri- 8 hrs
Sat- 8 hrs

You only due 7.5 hrs for the B/H in your office difference from the B/H to a rest day Monday you'll only be working another 4 days during the week, as a rest day monday you got to work 5 days and four @ 8 hrs so they have to give you a 7.5 day somewhere else your office a Saturday.
