hmrc dont give you anything its only because you were on the wrong tax code

Yes now have a tax code of 1080l instead of the old 956l.

Lucky you - my tax code is 268 mind you last year it was worse - it was only 61

cloherty1976 was probably paying too much tax, so their code has been adjusted for a while until things even out.

You don't say what job in RM you actually do, but I would assume you are an HGV driver going up and down the motorways or perhaps you are on late shifts finishing after 8.00pm?
The increase in your code will mean you pay £248 per year less in tax.

So what do I do?

If you're just a regular postie then the normal tax allowance of £9440 + £120 cleaning will apply, making a total of £9,560.
