Hi all, have you got to use the trolley ALL the time. Even if you have a couple of bundles for a loop. As 2 posties were suspended at an office near ours for not using them? Cant see the point in pushing a trolley with hardly anything in

Isn't that just for HCTs in a low risk area - LWT should ALWAYS be in view AFAIK.

I'm going to guess you can't see the point of taking a break or starting at your starting time either

Oh dear, if everyone who didn't use a trolley on the park and loop walks in our office were to be suspended they'd have to suspend almost all of us. I don't anyone who uses a trolley on a regular basis apart from the ones on local foot duties. People are organising the walks so they can get them done on time, and they aren't being organised the way they are designed to be done. Most pairings are delivering parcels as they go round and delivering equal amounts of mail carrying their bags or using a lots of small 'loops'. Very few walks are still giving drivers much flex to run around dropping large parcels off anymore.

The managers know this but obviously turn a blind eye. If we tried to use trolleys we wouldn't get the job done. Don't say do it properly and cut off, people have to cut off even doing it the way we are. Personally I believe everyone should try doing the job the way it should be done to prove it doesn't work in practice. At the moment it must appear to be working, if only barely, to some in higher management.
We really should be getting together and trying to do it properly to show that it does not actually work and that the way we do it needs to be re-examined.

Thing is, without some union leadership and workforce support at local level it is not going to happen.

Exactly the same in our office.
Most people leaving trolleys to try and get finished early (same people who start early)
Then whinge about having to take lapsing.
The use of trolleys has never been enforced by management as they know the job would not get done.
